As an upstream user which set of repos are the recommended target to obtain
rpms for installing an running kilo?
I believe a few months back a message had indicated that the centos repos
would be the preferred target, but monitoring both it seems newer packages
which aren't in the centos repos have made it into the rdo hosted repos.
Which of the two are recommended?

The instruction highlighted in the quick-start guide should always be the reference one:
https://www.rdoproject.org/Quickstart
rdo-release.rpm mentioned there right now points to:
https://repos.fedorapeople.org/repos/openstack/openstack-kilo/rdo-release...
which installs the correct repo file. Is it not working for you?

This does work for me, there just happen to be two upstream sources which
were both announced on the list related to RDO and Kilo and I'm looking to
see which one is preferred or recommended. Previously I believe there was
discussion that the CentOS distribution of RDO would be preferred for EL7
long term, but I didn't see anything further to that.
Looks like the guidance is to continue to use the content hosted on the rdo
specific release page based on your reply.

Hi,
Yes, long-term plans are to completely switch to CentOS repositories for EL,
but we still have to plug our CI to the CentOS infrastructure.
So we still officially recommend our own repos until then.
As a matter of fact, we ship the same packages in both repositories
albeit RDO repos
are not synced with latest builds. If you use CentOS repositories, you
can expect the same
level of support as with RDO repositories.
If you have any examples of packages out of sync on CentOS mirrors,
please ping me directly (on #rdo, I'm number80)
It's still a manual process (and I don't have signing privileges so I
have to ask CentOS releng for that)
