Hello,
I'm happy to get involved in this - my intention is to move the
documented workarounds we have internally onto the RDO docs website.
I started doing this earlier in the year:

However I need to clarify where TripleO QuickStart fits into the
picture. I haven't used this but it doesn't appear to be a tool that
produces a production-capable deployment - by this I mean a minimum of
three controllers in HA configuration on separate hardware.
So it appears we have four offerings:
1. Trystack - Research
2. Packstack - PoC
3. TripleO quickstart - Dev
4. TripleO baremetal - Prod
Have I pigeon-holed these correctly?

I have the exact same question. Especially how this relates to the
current documentation as performed with instack and the future of this
method. It does feel (and is possible) to perform the bare-metal
deployments from quickstart. But what is the expectation for this? At
the moment there is quickstart documentation and the general TripleO
documentation.

Couple notes..
We are closing out some work at the moment that will enable
tripleo-quickstart to deploy on bare metal.
There are two methods in play here.
1. Use a virtualized undercloud node on the bare metal undercloud physical
box.
2. Install the undercloud directly on the bare metal undercloud node.
I'll let Ronelle and Rasca update the status on that.
Secondly,
Tripleo-Quickstart should be able to produce up to date tripleo
documentation from it's ci logs.
We'll be exploring this concept in the coming weeks and would welcome any
input and help.

modifications needed to deploy a baremetal undercloud with quickstart.
All the details, with a complete readme that suggests how to implement
everything are here

Thanks for the update. This is great news.
Virtualized undercloud mounted to shared storage will be a great
improvement to the resiliency of the deployed cloud and I imagine will
allow operators to even migrate to another server to perform
maintenance on the host.

Yes, I feel like this is the right path to follow to obtain some kind of
undercloud HA, at least from a machine perspective. Having the HA on the
services well, is totally another story :)
