[Rdo-list] Fwd: [OpenStack Marketing] Superuser Award Nominations Now Open!
by Rich Bowen
In case you haven't seen this, you should take a look at the below
email. This is a great opportunity to show off what you're doing with
OpenStack. And, of course, it's a chance for some shameless promotion of
RDO, too!
If you're not familiar with the SuperUser awards, watch this video of
the keynote from the last OpenStack summit:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YoP0erdr7No
If you're doing something interesting/exciting/cool/unique with RDO in
your organization, here's a chance to tell the world about it, and get
on the stage (or at least your video in the keynote) at the OpenStack
Summit in Paris in November. I'd be delighted to nominate you, if you're
uncomfortable nominating yourself. Please send me a note about how
you're using OpenStack to make your corner of the world a better place.
The deadline is the end of next week, so please don't wait. Get your
nominations in.

We are now accepting submissions for the Superuser Awards!
During the last Marketing call, we introduced the inaugural Superuser
Awards that will celebrate the transformational work of OpenStack end
users and operators.
You can now nominate a team
<https://docs.google.com/a/openstack.org/forms/d/1pqAlNq42_VtuTXHUnMX81tKE...> (your
own, or from another organization) to be recognized for using OpenStack
to improve their business while contributing meaningfully to the
OpenStack community. The deadline for submissions is September 19, and
winners of the award will be announced on stage at the OpenStack Summit
in Paris, November 3-7.
Please let me know if you have any questions, and you can also visit the
Superuser Awards page <http://superuser.openstack.org/awards> to find
additional details on the selection criteria and nomination form.

I'm afrad, you'd have to provide some kind of reproducer for anyone to
be able to take a look at this as you have multiple machines in play.

[Rdo-list] Meetups in the coming week (Sep 8, 2014)
by Rich Bowen
The following are the meetups I'm aware of in the coming week where RDO
enthusiasts will be gathering. If you know of others, please do add them
to http://openstack.redhat.com/Events
If you attend any of these meetups, please take pictures, and send me
some. If you blog about the events (and you should), please send me
that, too.
* Red Hat :: Software Developer Meetup, Wednesday, September 10th,
Helsinki - http://www.meetup.com/RedHatFinland/events/182796782/
* Openstack and Open Throttle: a multi-vendor Openstack event at K1
Speed, Thursday, September 11, Santa Clara -
http://www.meetup.com/San-Francisco-Silicon-Valley-OpenStack-Meetup/event...
* OpenStack India Meetup, Saturday September 13, Pune -

* OpenStack WorkShop by UnitedStack, Tuesday, September 16th, Shanghai -
http://www.meetup.com/China-OpenStack-User-Group/events/203178112/ (The
folks at UnitedStack don't actually use RDO, but they're running
OpenStack on CentOS, so they have many overlapping interests.)

[Rdo-list] Fwd: [Openstack] Docs Bug Squash Day tomorrow, 9/9/14

details. If you have any interest in documentation, this is a great way
to get more deeply involved in the OpenStack project.

Subject: [Openstack] Docs Bug Squash Day tomorrow, 9/9/14
Date: Mon, 8 Sep 2014 09:51:41 -0500
From: Anne Gentle <anne(a)openstack.org>
To: openstack-docs(a)lists.openstack.org
<openstack-docs(a)lists.openstack.org>, openstack(a)lists.openstack.org
<openstack(a)lists.openstack.org>
Hi all,Â
We're planning a docs bug squash day tomorrow round-the-planet. With
over 650 doc bugs there's plenty to go around. Last time we squashed
over 100 bugs.
Refer toÂ
https://wiki.openstack.org/wiki/Documentation/BugDay for details. We
have documentarians standing by in #openstack-doc.Â
Sometimes just finding a bug to work on is a challenge. Search for
Confirmed or Triaged, and make sure Nobody is assigned, then go to town!
openstack-manuals:Â http://is.gd/r07MXm
openstack-api-site:Â http://is.gd/Icn3h9
As a reminder, triaging bugs is super helpful. If you know the fix, but
can't set up the docs environment for any reason, please just comment in
the bug itself. Search for New bugs and triage those first.
Thanks -- looking forward to tomorrow (cleaning up still in anticipation)!
