Hi, all:
Our company want to provide a customized OpenStack platform, so we need
to package some OpenStack components, and we want to keep the RPMs' name
unique to ones in RDO release. Now we use python setup.py bdist_rpm to
build the package, which is poor in packaging the same project into
several RPMs.
So, my question is belowing:
1, What method does RDO use to package OpenStack RPMs? python setup.py
or rpmbuild
2, Are the packaging configurations open source? Where can I get them?

Icehouse commercial offering? That one is based on top of RDO [0]. ;)
Both packaging configuration [1] and repositories with downstream
patches included on top of upstream releases [2] are available for
anyone. Fork, reuse, contribute.

Which patches do you want to backport? Please be aware of the cost
creating effectively a fork!
We add only patches to help packaging, security fixes and total blockers.
Otherwise it's vanilla upstream stable releases.
It always pays off in the long run to work upstream and help merge
patches there first.

I have noticed that the el6-havana branch of Nova [4] is 6-month old, while there were new
OpenStack packages released last week (openstack-nova-2013.2.4-1.el6.src.rpm).
Is [1] the source for the package build system or is there actually another repository
internal to Red Hat?

I'm not a Nova guy, but AFAIK el6-* branches were retired and replaced
by compound builds from f2* branches (f20 is Havana for fedora20,
fedora19, and el6; f21 is Icehouse for fedora20, el6, and el7; and
master for Juno for fedora-rawhide, fedora20, and el7).
For Fedoras, we build packages in Koji, and we use COPR for EL[67].
AFAIK there are no internal Red Hat repositories for RDO. Obviously, we
have internal repositories for RHOSP where we diverge a bit from
upstream releases.

Indeed, I see that the f20 branch has the corresponding code. The spec file has control
flow to select different patches and configurations depending on the platform.
