Hi, folks. I was hoping to solicit some help in addressing several posts
on the RDO forum that have been unanswered for some time. (There's more
than these, but these are the oldest ten. I didn't want to overwhelm you
with my first post.)
Over the coming weeks I'm going to be trying to get us all caught up,
and then provide a weekly "unanswered posts" report.
Could you please take a look and see if any of these posts are in your
area of expertise, or if perhaps they're about something that has
already been addressed.

http://openstack.redhat.com/forum/unanswered.php that'll show the full
list on demand, for those of you who are inclined to bookmark that and
check it every day.
Likewise, any chance we could get an 'unresolved' list? That way we
could see posts that have been answered (at least once) but are still
pending some resolution?

Marking discussions "RESOLVED" in the title, or with a resolved label,
has not scaled. I don't know how else to measure whether a thread is

Yeah, I wanted to do something like that, but there's simply no reliable
way to tell whether a given post has reached resolution. There's also a
lot of posts that have had a response, but no answer. Like, the response
was a 'me too' or was a 'is anyone out there', and now it doesn't show
up in the 'unanswered' query.
So, this is a very rough estimate.

well. Is it possible to add a button to the forum page next to "All
Discussions"? And maybe apply the RDO (forum) design to it?

again after <some amount of time>, mark as resolved. I imagine that can be
automated with some scripting-fu. Note that it should ideally be possible
to un-resolve a thread again.

directly instead of spamming the forum (to avoid the notes bumping the
stale thread to the front page again and drowning newer threads by doing
so).

Excellent! You may want to change the <title> to reflect the actual
content, though. And remove the RSS metalink which belongs to the other
page as well.
I can help you make your list look like the forum list if you like, but not
sure what to make of the elements that don't exist in the forum (the page
title and the statistics).

Well, I would start by:
- adding class="DataList Discussions" to the <ul>
- adding class="Item Announcement" to the <li>
- adding class="Title" to the <a> in the list
Should make it looks like the forum page a good bit more. Except for the
<h2> and I figure next step would be to put the statistics where the
categories / popular tags usually are?

Ok. Apparently that means that I put it in a div that only
certain folks
can see. Dave and I see it, so perhaps it's in an admin div. Will do
this a different way.
