Hi all,
Testing F21 and Juno today I saw an error where neutron-server came up
before mariadb was fully ready to accept connections. See [1]. Starting
neutron-server again (after mariadb was up) worked fine.
Should we be spelling out dependencies like this in our systemd unit
files or in some other way handling this race condition?

There is an upstream patch in progress for oslo.db which I'll include
in RDO rpm until oslo.db release with the fix is available.

We still need to reach MariaDB maintainers on why it takes so long for
MariaDB to start up with a tiny database. Even with the upstream patch
applied, I saw neutron-server service being killed due to systemd
timeout (90 secs) because for some reason MariaDB was able to
successfully start up in > 100 secs only.
I think the problem is worth a separate bug.
