Exactly. The advantages of working with Fedora as it's being developed,
instead of our own silo does have a lot of tooling benefits, especially
for developers.

There's the existing Fedora Cloud SIG. Observing other SIGs, very few
maintain sustained meaningful activity after the initial phase of
excitement to get started.
/me as CentOS Cloud SIG and Fedora Cloud WG member
Just for the record, CentOS Cloud SIG deals with Cloud Infrastructure
(OpenStack, CloudStack,
OpenNebula, Eucalyptus), Fedora Cloud WG holds stewardships on cloud
images (which are
an official product).
I had actively lobbied to give more power to SIG, which ultimately led me
to push for a governance change in Fedora as it became impossible to
move forward.
And I think the new Council has now the power and the will to make
things happen.

If people wants to join me lobbying Fedora to introduce layered
products, I'd love getting some support!
ie: having a true RDO product based on Fedora, that gets as much love as
the CentOS one. Though it will have a different target (developers and
early adopters),
it would give us a good platform to work integration on the next
Enterprise Linux releases.
Nothing prevents into having copr being able to interact with dist-git
(be it the pristine
one or another one) or having a separate koji instance for layered products
with more flexibility to SIGs.
But it won't happen without people championing this idea, and I trust
the Fedora Council
to be supportive if we come up with a good proposal.
