RDO Website and Documentation Contribution Changes

Documentation is often the first contribution someone makes to an Open Source project. The importance of documentation contributions to RDO was already shown by including all website and documentation contributors to our list of contributors starting with Victoria. In order to make the process for contributing the same for all changes regardless of the type of contribution (website, documentation, code, packages), changes to the website repository will now follow the same contribution process[0] and go through Gerrit. In the coming weeks I will be updating the onboarding guide, so if you have any suggestions you think would improve the process please let me know. And if anyone needs assistance getting configured please reach out to me, and if folks think it would be helpful we can even do a virtual workshop. [infra] RDO Trunk maintenance on December 14th, 9:00 UTC

Hi, We are planning to do some routine maintenance in the RDO Trunk servers (trunk.rdoproject.org and builders) next Monday, December 14th, starting at 9:00 UTC. The maintenance could result on a few YUM repo hiccups, due to the httpd service restarts, but no other issues are expected beyond that. New RDO Mascot and Naming Contest!

For those of you who attend, lurk, or read the RDO meeting minutes, you are aware we've been working on creating a mascot for RDO. RDO has had it's rubber ducks as SWAG and in keeping with that a duck was selected to be the mascot. Eventually we selected the Mallard duck to be unique and to stand out from more familiar ducks. Being that we're entering the end of the year and many people will be taking time off, the contest will run until 23:59 UTC on December 31, 2020. So send your entries to the mailing lists (users and/or dev) before the cutoff! I will create a poll to vote during the first week of January, 2021.
