Some of you have seen the RDO bookmarks that I hand out at various
events. They were designed 2 years ago by Dave Neary, and have been
updated a few times since then. It's time for another refresh to reflect
the changes in the OpenStack world.
I'm also planning to remove the bit of the bookmark that lists project
names and definitions, since that was already somewhat out of date, and
is even more so given Thierry's blog post from yesterday.
Anyways, I've put the latest version of the source file for the bookmark
at https://openstack.redhat.com/images/bookmark/rdo_bookmark.odt and
would appreciate any feedback from any of you who have opinions
regarding what should/should not be on there, what changes we need to
make, and how we can generally make it more useful to users of RDO and
OpenStack in general.

The 'nova-manage service list' command should be replaced with 'nova
service-list' or should be removed. I would prefer to remove it because
it is not related to the topic 'Managing instances'.
It would be nice to have the commands to manage/assign floating IP
addresses.
Maybe it should be mentioned how to create a new network and a new
subnetwork with neutron.
It should be 'glance image-list' (at the moment it is
'glance-image-list').
It should be 'packstack --allinone' (at the moment it is 'packstack
-allinone').

Regarding trystack.org: Is it still not possible to use trystack.org
without a Facebook account?

It does indeed use Facebook as the auth mechanism. I'm not aware that
there's any plan to change that. Dan Radez would know if there were.

Hi Rich, all,
What about replacing the nova, glance, keystone, cinder, ... commands
by the equivalent "openstack" commands, so that "nova list" becomes
"openstack server list" etc?
If people agree taht this is a good idea, I would be happy to compile
the list of commands.

Creating a new volume:
cinder create --display-name <name> <size in GB>
Should be converted to python-openstackclient, too.
The alignment of the parameters should be unified.
Examples for different alignments of parameters:
openstack volume create <volume-name> \
--image <image> --size <size in GB>
openstack server migrate <server-name> \
--live <target>
Maybe planet.openstack.org is an other useful URL that should be listed.

host" command. This should be fixed.

"dev_name" should be changed to "dev-name" or "device-name".
Same for
"Attach a volume to an instance".
"Create network"
Use "network-name" instead of "network_name".
"Managing Networks" should be changed to "Managing networks". The
other
titles are "Managing instances" and "Managing volumes".
