Hi,
I have found a workaround.
Basically the cloud_init file /etc/cloud.cfg on my deployed nodes needs
‘-update_hostname’ removing.
Also the domain suffix from /etc/hostname needs removing from each node.

FQDN on all hosts and don't see this any more.
If you have customised cloud_init then potentially the problem lies
there however I haven't dived into how to change hostnames in tripleo
too much yet.
Might even be worth verifying FQDN is set on undercloud too plus
contents of /etc/hosts
