TL;DR: Be a mentor - http://rdoproject.org/contribute/mentors
As discussed in a recent RDO community IRC meeting, it can be
intimidating, when first joining a project, to ask questions in an IRC
channel. Particularly if they're met with silence, because people aren't
watching the channel, or are busy with other things.
Additionally, when people are starting to contribute, as they are with
our new EasyFix initiative ( http://rdoproject.org/easyfix ) it's great
to know who to go to with questions on various topics.
To this end, we've created a mentors list -
http://rdoproject.org/contribute/mentors - where you can indicate that
you're willing to answer questions on a particular topic. That way,
someone can ping you directly with their questions on that topic, and
know that they're going to get an expert.
If you're willing to be one of those people, please add your name to a
relevant category (or add a new category, if needed) by clicking the
"Edit on Github" banner at the top right.
Note that there's also an similar upstream effort - the OpenStack
Upstream Institute - at
https://wiki.openstack.org/wiki/OpenStack_Upstream_Institute - if you're
willing to do the same for the larger community.
Thanks!
