As Rain replied you can reach out on #rdo Freenode and also on the
public mailing lists.
Our plan is explained in

and it does not include Stein.
Note that Stein is one year old and in maintenance phase so changes
required might not be possible to push to the stable/stein branches.
So first step would be to explain why Stein instead of Ussuri or Train?
