Strange that the resetting of the 'kvm' and 'kvm_intel' modules didn't
work for you, from your comment #33.
I don't have a CentOS box near by, but maybe you can manually update the
group permissions for /dev/kvm character device?
sudo chmod go+rw /dev/kvm
