LVM is not supported by these tools.  If you're using LVM, you can
dynamically expand your storage space while the system is running
without too much effort, whereas with a traditional partitioned image
this is much more difficult.

Using LVM, you should be able to create a new partition spanning the
unused space on the disk image and add that to your existing volume
group.
