Hi Amy, all,

Following the discussion in the Matrix room this week, I'm volunteering to take on the PTL role for this effort. Sherif--who was the first to step up, thank you--will act as a backup for availability coverage. Once we've got a working cadence, we'll revisit a more distributed (DPL-style) model and/or elections. Sherif and I have collaborated on efforts in the past so I'm thrilled to be working with him (and all of you!) on this project. By way of (brief) introduction, I've been part of the OpenStack-Ansible core team for a few years and was involved with the Rocky Linux project from its inception until earlier this year.

Quick summary of where things stand and the immediate plan:

- The distgit repos have been migrated into the CentOS Cloud SIG namespace in GitLab (thank you Alfredo and Alan).
- Next, per Alan's suggestion, we can validate that Cloud SIG membership grants permissions required in GitLab and Koji by pushing a test MR against an Epoxy branch.
- From there, the goal is to bring all Epoxy packages up to their latest upstream bugfix releases, after which the team can settle on what and how we build going forward.

I'll update the etherpad with this plan ahead of the 2026-07-14 14:00 UTC meeting with Jesse. Day-to-day coordination will happen on Matrix[1] and on this list.

If you have offered to help but aren't sure where to start, join the room and say hi! We'll have concrete tasks up for grabs shortly.

Thanks Amy for keeping this moving!

Best,
Neil

Hi everyone,

I wasn't sure who was already subscribed to the RDO dev list(0) so apologies if you are receiving this twice, this is the only double email I will be sending.

While a few folks have said they have skills to help build the RPMs and help others we still are looking for leadership to lead this effort. Someone(or multiple people) willing to organize what needs to be done and help coordinate who will work on them. So while we had a great meeting with Jesse(1), we have not made any progress since. Without people stepping up to claim leadership or tasks we will remain in the same state we have for the last year.

There is a room on the Fedora Matrix server for Cloud SIG(2) we can use for communication as well as the mailing list to coordinate this work before we meet again with Jessee on 2026/07/14 14:00 UTC(3).

Please let me know how I can help you all,

Amy
