yes so i had the fqdn only in my hosts file and rabbitmq couldnt find the host by its shortname
after i added shortname to my hosts file i definitely passed over that bump (adn stopped elsewhere). there is a thread about it on this list ... somewhere :)

We could. The patch I proposed does not however, it merely addresses the issues
