<html><head><meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=us-ascii"></head><body style="word-wrap: break-word; -webkit-nbsp-mode: space; line-break: after-white-space;" class="">Hi!<div class=""><br class=""></div><div class="">I would like to announce that very soon we will switch the default zuul nodesets used by jobs from centos-7 to centos-8.</div><div class=""><br class=""></div><div class="">This will affect any job that does not override the nodeset somewhere in its hierarchy because base-minimal is the "<a href="https://review.rdoproject.org/zuul/jobs" class="">root</a>" of all jobs in zuul.</div><div class=""><br class=""></div><div class="">This will directly affect most tox-* and openstack-tox-* based jobs which historically relied on using default nodesets.</div><div class=""><br class=""></div><div class="">Because these jobs are defined upstream we cannot redefine them in order to override the nodeset but we can do one of the following:</div><div class="">- override nodeset when you include it in a specific project</div><div class="">- create new job that inherits original one and override nodeset in that one</div><div class=""><br class=""></div><div class="">It is unlikely that this will be needed but it is good to know, in case we discover some specific jobs which are not ok to run on centos-8.</div><div class=""><br class=""></div><div class=""><br class=""></div><div class="">This will happen as soon <a href="https://review.rdoproject.org/r/#/c/25904/" class="">https://review.rdoproject.org/r/#/c/25904/</a> is merged.</div><div class=""><br class=""></div><div class="">Cheers</div><div class="">Sorin Sbarnea</div></body></html>
